Sea turtles are the ancient mariners of our oceans. After hatching on a beach, they cross thousands of miles of ocean to reach areas with food. Yet, little is known about where these green sea turtles go and how they migrate.
Endangered leatherback hatchlings may suffer high mortality at sea. This study is the first step to understand how and where newborn leatherbacks disperse off their last important nesting sites in West Papua.
The gopher tortoise, a threatened species in Florida, is considered a keystone species because it provides habitat for other animals in their burrows. Trail cameras will help capture footage of these mysterious visitors.
